I guess it really is true that, “what we learn from history is that we do not learn“. I was beginning to wonder how the socialists could possibly withstand the landslide of conservative backlash against them in upcoming elections. I should have known better. If the so called TEA Party that is trying to climb out of the "tea party movement" continues to evolve, the socialists won't have to do anything but wait because, once again, conservatives appear to be gearing up to, figuratively speaking, eat their own young.
And so at the outset, “let me be clear”, as Mr. Obama likes to say: The last thing that historically patriotic, and politically conservative, America needs is a bunch of off based self righteous "born again patriots" trying to split the Republican party into two parties, neither of which will then have a snowball's chance in Hell of defeating the Democrats at the polls. The Republican party needs healthy revival, not destructive revolution. And let's get something else straight. The so called TEA party is not made up of former democrats, independents and loyal conservatives as I have heard naively stated. If anyone really believes that those three distinctly different segments will come to together and somehow form a more perfect political union, so to speak, then I may have a bridge that I can sell...
This morning, I had just begun working on a piece entitled, Tea parties..........Yes! TEA party...........No!, when I received this message from a friend who has been active in the organization of the “tea parties” down in south Texas. So that I don’t distort the message, I am including it as received, with my only addition in italics and parenthesis at the end:
Please check out this Newsmax article, RNC Takes Down Controversial Tea Party Site at the following link;

The move appears to indicate Republican recognition that TEA Party leaders will not tolerate efforts to absorb it into the GOP. TEA Party groups, rightfully, are being very careful to avoid any appearance of an alliance with the GOP, because the Tea Party ranks include many independents and former Democrats. (this statement was excerpted from the above linked article)
This to me is an indication that from within our own conservative ranks we are about to destroy any hope that we have of reversing the downward spiral and restoring this nation to it‘s historical fundamentals.
One of the most effective activities arising out of conservative politics during the past year has been the public outcry of conservative Americans. Across the nation, ordinary citizens have rallied to downtown meeting sites in almost every large city in the United States to protest unconstitutional and irregular activities of the socialist Obama administration. Dubbed "tea parties" by their organizing activists, they were purposely intending to call to mind the Boston tea party, a direct action taken by colonists in Boston, a town in the British colony of Massachusetts, against the British government. On December 16, 1773, after officials in Boston refused to return three shiploads of taxed tea to Britain, a group of colonists boarded the ships and destroyed the tea by throwing it into Boston Harbor. The incident remains an iconic event of American history, and reference is often made to it in other political protests.
The Boston tea party was the culmination of a resistance movement throughout British America against the Tea Act, which had been passed by the British Parliament in 1773. Colonists objected to the Tea Act for a variety of reasons, primarily because they believed that it violated their right to be taxed only by their own elected representatives. Protesters had successfully prevented the unloading of taxed tea in three other colonies, but in Boston, embattled Royal Governor Thomas Hutchinson refused to allow the tea to be returned to Britain. He apparently did not expect that the protestors would choose to destroy the tea rather than concede the authority of a legislature in which they were not directly represented.
I was an early advocate of, and a participant at the “tea party” protests and even published early support on one of my blog spots, (Dallas Tea Party, Apr 19, 2009 http://denniskey.blogspot.com ), but the people who are taking a political position such as we‘re seeing today, as indicated in the above correspondence and elsewhere as of late, the ones who are traipsing off Ross Perot style in the absolutely wrong direction, and in the wrong manner, are in no way speaking for me and my family. I hope and pray that most of you will agree and continue to stand with me and most other conservatives on this. We need a strong, united and conservative Republican party that is filled with true Christian patriots that are dedicated to the preservation of the constitution and our American way of life. We do not need a fragmented, “let’s start over by kicking everyone out and putting in all new people and creating a couple of new political parties” approach.
While it might feel good to shout, “let’s vote ’em all out”, realistically that is not going to happen, nor should it. The socialists in Washington have screwed things up badly and they know it. As a result, we conservative constitutionalists currently have them on the run, and can very likely make significant gains or even major gains in the upcoming 2010 elections if we remain united. Some of these successes have already been forthcoming in unlikely places such as Massachusetts and Virginia. At the same time, we see liberal congressmen dropping out of the races almost in droves.
President Ronald Reagan once encouraged this nation with these words: “Let’s stay the course”, I am today inclined to repeat those words. If we can continue to have well attended, wonderfully encouraging and effective “tea party” protests, to make known our dissatisfaction with the socialist attack on America, then let’s do it; but if doing so leads us to turn on each other, as it appears that some are now doing, then what will we have gained?
Tea parties.....Maybe! TEA party..........Emphatically No!!
Wake up America..........Wake up before it’s too late!!
